Over the course of last decade, I have conducted fieldwork on militarization Rio de Janeiro and security industry that developed in response to 2014 World Cup 2016 Olympics. This fictional short story follows two different imagined laborers, Nico Valesca, reflecting racial, gendered, class tensions saw play out between police military operators from regions during my research. Working alongside a narrator seeks navigate fraught power dynamics highly masculine setting.
